On the weekend of August 7-8, 2010, hundreds of devoted women and men will take to the streets of Edmonton to walk 60kms to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer and other women’s cancers.
The sixth annual Weekend is a multi-day event for those who are making a courageous commitment in the fight against cancer. Funds generated from the Weekend event go towards research and treatments for breast cancer and gynecologic cancers, such as ovarian, cervical, uterine, endometrial, and vaginal, to name a few.
An estimated one in seven Canadian women will develop cancer in their lifetime. Participants in the Shoppers Drug Mart® Weekend to End Women’s Cancers™ benefiting Alberta Cancer Foundation have the opportunity to make a real difference in the fight against breast and gynecologic cancers right here in Alberta by raising much needed funds and awareness.
