7/6 - 8/25 Children's Ability Fund - Volunteers Needed! WE NEED MORE BILLY’S BUDS!

As you are aware, the Children's Ability Fund works hard for people with disabilities in your community.

The organization needs to continue to raise funds and awareness to successfully help the people who need it most. We do this through our mail campaigns, special events and attending community events around Northern Alberta!

We are fortunate this year to have been welcomed to several community events around the Edmonton Capital Region. These events will help us both raise awareness of what we do as well as money so we can continue to provide funding for specialized equipment and barrier free projects for people with disabilities.

We are a tiny office with big plans! We simply could not do what we do without our much valued and dedicated volunteers and we need your help!

9/11 Edmonton Gorilla Run Supported by 92.5 JOE FM Edmonton is hosting it's very first Gorilla Run at Sir Wilfrid Laurier Park on September 11, 2010.

The race is a first for Canada and it will help save the critically endangered mountain gorillas. This successful run currently happens in London, England, Austin, Texas and in Denver, Colorado, but has never branched into Canada...until now!

It’s a run with a twist. All registrants receive gorilla suits, which are theirs to keep (great for Halloween). Denver currently holds the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people dressed as gorillas with 1061 participants, and we believe Edmonton has the spirit to take that title.

The funds raised from this event, will go towards the expansion of the Wildlife and Animal Resources Management Facility at Makerere University in Uganda. This will allow further education programs for locals to first protect the mountain gorilla and then expand to all wildlife throughout Africa.
