Watch Tam Andersen - the Prairie Gardener
Each week come watch a new video podcast by Tam! From planting tomatoes to how to attract humming birds to your yard, Tam will be taking you through all things gardening!

Meet Tam Andersen - the Prairie Gardener
Edmonton's local gardening personality, Tam Andersen believes that Albertans of all ages need to have more fun – preferably connecting with plants! Tam shares gardening tips with over one million Edmontonians through various media outlets, including Corus Radio and CTV. Tam has been gardening all her life. First at home on the farm, growing her own pumpkin garden at age 11; then following in the footsteps of her Aunt Anne, of Vale’s Greenhouses. “She got me hooked on growing things in her humid and earthy little ‘starter’ greenhouse, forever delighted with emerging seeds and plants for the prairies.” Tam has been Horticulturalist and Director of Fun at Prairie Gardens & Adventure Farm for over 25 years. Over 40,000 folks enjoy visiting the Greenhouse, Garden Centre, U-Pick Gardens and Agri-tourism operation in the Edmonton region, near Bon Accord each year. Tam grows hundreds of thousands of plants each year including flowers, perennials, pumpkins and strawberries. She is passionate about gardening and educating children about how things grow and local food.
