Having said that I have to get off this off my chest. My tickets have come mainly keeping up to traffic on Edmonton roads like the Whitemud, where doing 80 appears to be punishable by hell.
Last night there was a fatal accident on the stretch of road that takes you to my place. 199th street in Edmonton's deep southwest end has 2 lanes and a couple of hills and many, many people love to speed on it. The limit is 80 and consistently I am being passed by people going much, much faster....and often times they are passing on a double line. For someone who drives this road every day, I know it well...there are a couple of hills and lots of animals. By animals I mean up to 40 deer ...

Noah Guthrie cover of Sexy And I Know It. No, I don’t worry about who is going to take care of me when I’m older. No I don’t feel that I’m missing one of the worlds so called “greatest blessings”. Yes, I know I’d make a good mom…but I don’t want to be one. What I am is a great god-mother and aunt to many incredible young people.
It has always been that way for me. Babies don’t make my ovaries quiver. In fact, puppies do. This conviction was put to the test in my 30’s. My first husband wanted children. There was never, ever any doubt about that. Great Food. Great Charity

So thrilled to be a part of an incredible event for an incredible charity in honour of an incredible woman! Fiona Cooper was a dear friend to a friend of mine. Allan and Fiona worked together at an Edmonton restaurant until her death. In her honour Allan started hosting a golf tournament with the money raised going to various charities. Well over the past year, Allan and I have become friends and he found out about a charity that is dear to my heart. The Angels Anonymous Connection http://www.angelsanonymous.org/ is a small organization that grants wishes to terminally ill adults. It was started by my friend Wendy Grahl, a four time cancer survivor, who decided she wanted to give back..and that she has! The Angels Anonymous Connection received no federal or provincial funding, so it relies entirely on corporate and individual donations.
This year, we are thrilled that Allen has decided to ...

Alberta Business Hall of Fame/Junior Achievement

Wow friends. Sorry about not posting much this week. It has been another exceptionally crazy busy week around here! Hope you are all doing well. Just wanted to tell you about a fantastic event I had a chance to be a part of last night. I was asked to MC the Junior Achievement Alberta Business Hall of Fame! Wow...incredible. Now I'm not going to get into all the details about the Junior Achievement Program...(you can check it out at http://northern-alberta-and-nwt.jacan.org/ for yourself) but I will tell you a bit about the people I met. I was astounded by the insight, vision and confidence of the JA kids. It really gives hope to see young people so passionate about a project. Youngsters who are invested in their future and learning some life lessons I certainly wish I had. The event brought together 1200 people, many of them the regions top business leaders. Ok, well not really that long, or cold but when you look at your beauty motorcycle every day in the garage, it gets really long and cold. I started riding 6 year ago and have loved every minute of it. It's the place I go to clear my mind, just to be alone and enjoy all that this area has to offer! Last year didn't see much riding because of the weather and the move...but boy, I can't wait to get riding this year! Please keep an eye out for us. We'll keep an eye out for you too!
Be safe and keep the shiny side up!

This is awesome! NASA has released a time-lapse video of Earth from the International Space station and the result is probably the most stunning video you'll see all year. The northern lights, the southern lights, the moon, the sun, a comet -- it's all there, and all part of the remarkable universe in which we are but tiny parts! enjoy!

It's the sad truth and for some of us it happens sooner rather than later. About 6 years ago a very good friend was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 37! 37!! At the time we had had a bit of a falling out and hadn't talked much in quite a while. I remember hearing the news from a mutual friend. I was driving and started to cry...it was such a huge reality check and made me realize the issue we were angry at each other...wasn't worth not being friends over. Over the past 6 years I have watched my dear friend battle thru radiation, chemotherapy and a slew of different medications. She, like so many others has done so with the courage of a lion. The cancer has ...
