So much natural beauty and so much to see. The Reynolds-Alberta Museum in Wetaskiwin has been a favorite of mine for over 15 years.
I've spent a lot of time there and even volunteered over the years. My good friend Jim Takenaka has been on staff at the museum from almost the beginning and he turned me on to it early on! There is so much to see there it's hard to know where to begin. It's a museum that's dedicated to human history. Old cars, motorcycles, trucks, farm machinery and airplanes gives you a quick overview; but that is just a scratch of the surface!
Their restoration shop is amazing. Let's face it, it's hard to find parts for these classics so they have to make them on site. The interactive displays are excellent and the aviation museum is very ...

Mother's Day Embarrassing Stories 4

Happy Mother's Day! Today I finish off with more stories from our "I love you Mom, But..." contest. Make it a great day and enjoy! -Rhu
Hello Rhu:

I have some stories, maybe they are not that embarrassing but I thought to share anyways. Specially since my mother came from Cuba! here is two of the latest ones. I just got my mother here in Canada recently, Our culture is kinda different than Canadian, we are very "to much" kinda affectionate people, we love to kiss in the cheeks and To hug, even when we just met the person for the first time.
So anyways, my mom goes kissing and hugging everyone!!!!! Even people that I hardly know!! I just have to say:" this is my mom from Cuba" and is like the "magic words" for her! :/ There she goes to kiss and to hug!..For some people is ...

Shocking Before and After work out Video

We've all seen the pictures in magazines and on late night informercials. It's the amazing transformation that people go through when they use this product or if they use this workout gear or program. Here's a video that is shocking, it's a dramatic before and after picture that only took 5 hours! -Rhu

Okay so my mom took me and my friend, Rebecca to West Edmonton Mall to shop for our grade nine grad outfits. We went into a store called Lammies (I think) and we saw these giant foam cowboy hats. Rebecca and I asked my mom to take a picture of us with them on. So I got my iPod out and set it up so all my mom had to do was hit the button to take a picture, but since my mom isn't that smart with technology, she started to look through the camera on the back of my iPod because she thought you could see through it and take a ...

Mother's Day Embarrassing Stories 2

Here are some more stories about embarrassing moms! Hi Rhubarb, A time when my mom embarrassed me? Hmm that's a tough one, when my Moms method of discipline was primarily made up from embarrassing me lol. But one example that stands out in my mind was when I was a teen and had a 9pm curfew. We lived in a small town and the only hang out for teenagers was at the arcade. And although I was allowed to hang out there, I was never allowed out past 9pm and if I ever dared stay out past that time then I would "suffer the consequences", never really knowing until it happened that the punishment would be my mother standing at the entrance of the arcade and yelling right over the loud rock music and voice of other kids "(my ...

Mother's Day Embarrassing Stories 1

All week I've been asking you to submit your embarrassing mom stories. I got so many good ones! Too many to share on the radio, so I thought I'd share them here. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did! I will post new stories each day at 2pm until Mother's Day on Sunday!
One of my most embarrassing moments was quite a few years ago. We were on summer holidays and decided to spend a few nights in Edmonton. My brother, mom and I were swimming in the hotel pool when all of a sudden my brother and I, along with everyone else in the pool noticed that my moms boob popped out of her bathing suit!!! We were too embarrassed to tell her because then people would know we knew her, so we let her figure it out on her own. After that we pretended we ...

BOWL FOR KIDS - Thank You!

We had a great night last night at Ed's Rec Room, West Edmonton Mall. It was the 14th Annual Bowl for Kids for the Children's Ability Fund and once again it was a success.
With 28 lanes full of enthusiastic participants and local celebrities heading up teams, it is no wonder this event is so popular and successful for the Children’s Ability Fund – one of the longest running charities in Northern Alberta! For over 60 years, the Children’s Ability Fund has raised funds to purchase specialized equipment for people with disabilities.
We would also like to thank the support of all the local celebrities that showed off their bowling skills and headed up our teams: Jolan Wong & Leaha Hickman (National Sitting Volleyball Players), City Councillor Kerry Diotte, Radio-Canada Sportcaser Patrick Henri, Jules Soetaert (Professional Bowler), #911 Trauminatrix from the St. Albert Heavenly Rollers, Global’s Quinn Ohler, Breakfast TV’s Ryan ...

BOWL FOR KIDS - Tonight (Monday)

92.5 JOE FM is proud to once again host the Bowl for Children at Ed's Rec Room at West Edmonton Mall and it goes tonight with the bowling starting at 7! I've got my bowling shirt on and I'm ready to go!
This is the 14th year of this event to help raise money and create awareness for the Children's Ability Fund. This is a pledge driven event where teams of 4 individuals are given the opportunity to play a game of 10 pin bowling with local celebrities and raise money for this great cause!
Our goal this year is to raise $30 000 to provide three grants for vehicle modifications to deserving families. I love the event and have had the good fortune of meeting some great people. I've bowled with "Billy's Kids" for the past few years I look forward to the "waggle" and Richard putting the "whammy" ...

Great Cover

You don't hear to many bands or people covering Dire Straits stuff.
