It is coming to Edmonton in September and is going to be a blast and more importantly it will raise funds and awareness for Cancer. There are lots of details at www.joefm.ca check them out. Road hockey for me is childhood. Every day in Vancouver rain or shine I was out with my buddies playing, the shouts of "CAR" meant moving the nets...or what about the searching of the tennis balls / road hockey balls in gardens everywhere...chasing down the dogs who tried to play and then would borrow the balls for a while. All of this is coming to Edmonton in September. There are rewards for raising money the quickest and the most. You may even have an ex-NHLer on your team. Thereis a draft afer the funds have been raised and you will get to choose in order of ...

The Edmonton Oil Kings are WHL Champions.

CONGRATS TO THE EDMONTON OIL KINGS

The other day we took the dog for a walk in the River Valley and came upon dozens of fish spawning. It was a really cool site. When you are walking/running/cycling the trails, take a break and check out the water at this time of the year. We are still not exactly sure what kind of fish we are talking about , they were about a foot long. You can check out some of the pics and a video on the JOEFM Facebook page. They had a reddish/orange stripe from the gills to the tail and a little olive colour with black spots. Can you eat them ?? My initial thought is NO. Lots of Beavers in the area and river valley ( nephew and neice once got beaver fever (Not Fun). Would one want to eat something caught in a North Saskatchewan tributary?? If so what ...

Let's go OIL KINGS!!

Our neighbours behind us have their shed snug against our fence and the roof of it overhangs on to our side of the fence and yard. It wasn''t really all that visible until they cut down a 40ft spruce. Okay I am sounding a little bit like "Hey get off my lawn" sure ...but , do I say anything ?? To top it off they are moving and I am thinking it's either now or never. Are you allowed to have a shed or some structure against your neighbours fence and overhanging? I am thinking NO. They are awesome people and I think I will offer it up in a respectful manner but do you have any Wingnut/wacky/weird neighbour stories??

Karl JOEFM techie expert talking Google blocking.

We talked with Karl JOEFM's techie expert abut blocking Google from tracking your exact ip address when doing Google searches. Congrats to Alison Redford and the PC's (does that stand for Politically Correct??) Alison is now one of four reigning female Premiers. Impressive considering women didn't even get the right to vote until 1960, almost 100 years after our first vote as a Country which was in 1867. We now have a female in power and a female as leader of the opposition. I haven't done the homework on that but has that ever happened before ? We had a chance to talk with Premier Redford on the JOEFM morning some weeks ago and we had fun. She answered some of the hard hitting questions and then let us know her favourite song that gets the party shaking ...

Get out and vote. Exercise your freedom.

It is voting day in Alberta and I want to remind you to get out and do it. Sometimes we forget that some of our Forefathers died for our freedoms and part of that to me means the right to get out and vote in our elections. We live in a democratic society and the only way to keep that going and do our part is to exercise your right to vote. In some countries your life is threatened at election time. Think about this, in my riding Edmonton Rutherford the candidates were going door to door and probably did that in your riding as well. Often times they are alone or with their family as they ask you for your concerns and let you know what their main concerns are or what they plan to do if elected. There some countries around the globe where this simply would not ...

There's help if your cel' phone has a bath.

Have you ever had your Cel' phone take a bath unexpectedly??
