The City of Edmonton has developed the Safe Needle Disposal Tool Kit in order to raise community awareness about needle safety, reduce the number of discarded needles on our streets, reduce the risk and prevent injury to the public, especially children, who find discarded needles, and finally, to provide options for the safe disposal of needles where the need exists. Edmonton residents love their clean, litter-free parks, streets and neighborhoods. Each year, citizens, community groups and businesses work with the litter-reduction and prevention programs at Capital City Clean Up to make Alberta’s capital city sparkle.

The City of Edmonton is hosting Big Bin Events for household items that can’t be set out for regular waste collection. Twelve weekend events will be held in various locations throughout the City.
